New euro Tiger V8-4 with Micro-Topper 2
The new euro Tiger is the most efficient sugar beet harvester of its class. The power transfer of the 440kW/ 598hp Mercedes Benz V8 ensures reduced fuel consumption and more powerful traction.
A perfect balance of tank loading automation and hydraulic axle load control guarantees optimum traction and load distribution with outstanding manoeuvrability in all conditions. The new 800/70 R32 Ultraflex tyres at the front require just 1.4 bar air pressure even at a maximum tank capacity for minimum soil compaction.
ROPA’s precision Micro-Topping System is now fitted as standard, harvesting the whole beet with its crown but without the tops. Please see below…
ROPA maximise yields with exclusive micro topping system
ROPA Micro-Topping System meets the industry’s growing demand for minimal topping. The system is fully adjustable and because its modified scalper design identifies individual beet, it is much more accurate and efficient than a flail system, particularly when harvesting at higher speeds.
Whereas the flail system is set for all beet across the 6 rows, micro topping is related to the individual beet, tall or short. Importantly, micro topping does not require extra fuel or exert added pressure on wearing parts and does not bruise the crown of the healthy beet. The beet body is scanned precisely by mechanical sensors which guide the following blade to the crown height.
Once in the clamp the micro topped beet are protected against sugar loss due to their clean cut. 12 machines were running this system in Europe in the 2010-11 campaign and their operators were enthusiastic about the benefits they gained from this exclusive and pioneering topping system, having achieved maximum productivity under all circumstances thanks to reduced top tare waste.
ROPA micro topping is available as a retrofit option on existing harvesters.
