ROPA unveil the next generation of beet loaders: euro Maus 4Masu 4 4 w

ROPA has unveiled a new generation of their self-propelled cleaning loader for sugar beet with new dimensions and a collection system more than 10 m wide. The overall concept combines performance, efficiency and practical experience with the newest technological innovations from ROPA. The most striking feature of the euro-Maus 4 is its 9 m long counterweight arm, guaranteeing total stability even with a fully extended loading elevator and guaranteeing good traction in the wet.

The comfortable cab which can be elevated up to 5.1 m provides the machine operator with an all round view of the working area. All operational processes can be monitored and optimised on a clearly laid-out colour terminal. A newly designed control panel with logically arranged operating controls, a rotary selector switch as well as 2 new multi-functional joysticks on the arm rests make the machine highly user-friendly when loading.

Driver safety is promoted by an extremely clever set of hydraulically controlled steps which flatten to a level platform when the cab is not elevated.

The robust collecting system, extends to a usable 10.2m working width (the industry’s widest). It features 18 cleaning rollers (hard welded finish), creating a smooth flow that has been proven to ensure efficient soil removal. Depending on the level of cleaning required the cleaning system can be adjusted in length and intensity from the operator cab. The increased intake width means that as much as 50% more beet can now be stored in the beet pile – a significant advantage for longer fields with short headlands and in deep frost conditions.Maus 4 2wMaus4 3 w

The economical 240KW / 326 HP Mercedes-Benz engine has a low emission rate of 3b and incorporates AdBlue and SCR-Kat feeds the drive mechanism.   The drive system has been maximised to high efficiency so that even when loading it operates automatically at a reduced speed whilst maintaining ample reserves to cope with extreme conditions. Throughput capacity has been increased significantly whilst maintaining reduced fuel consumption. The cleaning path has been widened for optimum cleaning effect.

The elevator is made from high grade 700o steel, contributing to the impressive performance of the euro-Maus 4 when loading whilst maintaining high machine stability. The counterweight arm extends up to 9m long and 4m high and can be swung out together with the fuel tank that serves as a counterweight to the loader. This ensures total stability for the machine even with a fully extended elevator.  Electronic measuring systems continuously monitor and display the weight distribution. For road transport the euro-Maus 4 can be easily and automatically folded from the cabin achieving a transport width of 3 m and a total length of 14.5 m. Two hydraulically sprung additional axles coupled with a heavy duty braking system permit safe manoeuvring of the 31,000kg euro-Maus 4 and optimum driving comfort.

The new hydraulic system provides efficient power, combining high throughput with low consumption at a steady loading speed of 1,200 rpm. Powerful load-sensing hydraulics ensure highest possible oil utilization and a swift response from the entire operating system even when idling.

All components are functional, of clear outline and specially designed for their purpose. The various detailed solutions, e.g. the automatic folding mechanism, indicator of final drive performance, automatic stone protection, capability of the cooling fan to be reversed and swung up and fuel filter monitor, all contribute to the highest possible performance at lowest maintenance needs.  Electronic data recording with USB data transfer, fuel consumption gauging, air-conditioning, heating, reversing camera and a central lubricating system are part of the very comprehensive standard equipment of the euro-Maus 4. Optional equipment includes systems for beet logistics – RABS order processing, GIS-interface, through-put weighing, all of which can be integrated directly into the main terminal without the need for auxiliary terminals.MAus1 W

With the new euro-Maus 4, ROPA is demonstrating once more its unsurpassed leading position in the manufacture and distribution of self-propelled cleaning loaders. It is anticipated initially to produce 10 machines for operation in 2010 and to test them to their utmost limits. Full introduction to the market is planned for 2011.
